The Mokaflor roasting company was founded in the 1950s in the heart of Florence, behind Piazza della Signoria by Vasco Bernini. From a small shop, the company has evolved and expanded to being today in the third generation of the Bernini family. For almost 70 years our main focus has been on selecting, tasting and researching the best varieties of coffee from all over the world. We then roast them individually to achieve the ideal profile for each of them. We believe that our main strength lies in the knowledge of the product.

Unlike nearly all other coffee roasters who blend different green coffee beans and then roast them together at once, our coffees are all roasted individually and blended afterwards in order to reach the perfect roasting degree for each variety. In this way we ensure every different coffee bean type is roasted to perfection instead of being roasted to an average colour across lots of different types. For example, small beans roast quickly and large beans roast more slowly, roasting them together will result in over roasted small beans and under roasted large beans...

In our large selection of blends, some of our bestsellers are the Arabica 100% BLACK blend, 80/20 GOLD blend, 60/40 RED blend and 50/50 BLUE blend. We source our coffees mainly from Brazil and other South American countries such as Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala; then also Ethiopia, Indonesia and many more. Our blends are made from the combination of the highest quality coffees from all over the world, perfect both for bars, retail and domestic use.
